Casa Ó

A sustainable hospitality project in Colombia’s Andean mountains combines minimalist design with ecological principles, offering a serene refuge in a platonic solid that timidly adopts prominence within a terrain of scale, forest scents, and tall eucalyptus trees; mimicking its austerity with the natural environment.

The architecture is characterized by a striking combination of steel and wood, materials that are durable and sustainable. The steel provides structural integrity, allowing for large windows and open spaces that maximize the impressive mountain views, while the wood adds warmth and texture to the design, connecting the building with its natural surroundings.

The minimalist and timeless approach focuses on clean lines, simple forms, and an open design that fosters a sense of tranquility and intimacy with the landscape. Local materials are carefully selected to minimize environmental impact, and the design prioritizes energy efficiency through passive heating, natural ventilation, and abundant natural light. Large glass surfaces strategically capture sunlight during the day, while eaves and shading elements provide protection from intense sunlight, ensuring comfort during variable weather conditions.

This careful integration of steel, wood, and sustainable practices creates a hospitality experience that celebrates both the beauty of the Andean mountains and the principles of responsible design.
