Casa 55 Valle Alto

Casa 55 is an architectural project located in La Calera, Cundinamarca, Colombia, and was designed for a growing family seeking to materialize their life dreams. This progressive approach to housing is reflected in the creation of flexible and versatile spaces within two protagonist planes that frame the rich mountains of Bogotá’s savanna hills. The house not only provides a welcoming and functional environment for the current couple but is also prepared to evolve and grow along with their family, ensuring that each life stage is well served.

The design of Casa 55 stands out for its ability to integrate harmoniously with the challenging topography of the terrain. The architecture has been meticulously planned to adapt to the site’s slopes and level changes, allowing for an implementation that respects and enhances the natural landscape. This topographical adaptation is complemented by the use of different types of steel, including corten steel, and wood, which not only provide strength and durability to the structure but also confer a distinctive identity and robust character to the house. The combination of these materials creates a contemporary and warm aesthetic that perfectly integrates with the natural environment.

Attention to detail is a crucial aspect of the house’s design. Every element of the interior and carpentry has been carefully thought out to offer functionality and beauty. The finishes and carpentry details reflect high-quality craftsmanship, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the interior spaces. This detailed approach not only enhances the overall aesthetics of the house but also increases its practicality, ensuring that each area is both beautiful and useful.

The inclusion of interior courtyards and planters is another notable aspect of Valle Alto. These elements not only dilute the boundaries between interior and exterior, creating a fluid and natural transition, but also play an important role in capturing solar radiation. During the day, these areas allow the entry of natural light and heat, which helps maintain a pleasant temperature during the night, especially in a region known for its cold conditions. This integration of natural elements in the design not only improves the energy efficiency of the house but also provides a healthy environment connected with nature for its inhabitants.
